Special Provisions Regarding Voter Data
Given the sensitive nature of voter registration data and the legal restrictions that apply to its use, we want to be especially clear about how voter data is handled on our Platform.
Campaign-Specific Isolation
Voter data imported by one campaign is strictly isolated from all other campaigns. We do not cross-reference, share, or combine voter data between different campaigns using our Platform. A voter record imported by Campaign A is never visible to, accessible by, or used in connection with Campaign B.
Permitted Uses of Voter Data
Voter data stored on our Platform may only be used for the following purposes:
- Enabling the importing campaign to manage its voter outreach and contact operations
- Providing the campaign management features of the Platform
- Improving Platform performance and fixing technical issues (using aggregated, anonymized data only)
Prohibited Uses of Voter Data
CampaignBase expressly prohibits the following uses of voter data:
- Selling or licensing voter data to any third party
- Using voter data for commercial, advertising, or non-campaign purposes
- Combining voter data across campaigns
- Using voter data to build models or profiles for purposes other than the specific campaign
- Any use that violates applicable state voter data use restrictions
Candidate Responsibility
Candidates are solely responsible for ensuring their use of voter data complies with the laws of their jurisdiction. Most states restrict the use of voter registration data to campaign and political purposes only. CampaignBase provides this data management tool — we do not represent that any particular use of voter data is lawful in any particular jurisdiction. If you have questions about the lawful use of voter data in your state, please consult a qualified attorney.
Confidential Voter Records
Some voter records are marked as confidential by state election authorities (for example, addresses of domestic violence victims or law enforcement personnel). Our Platform recognizes these confidentiality flags and applies appropriate restrictions to the display and export of such records.
Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the Platform’s services. Specific retention periods:
- Account information — retained while your account is active. Deleted within 30 days of account deletion upon request.
- Campaign data (voter files, donor lists, volunteer information) — retained while your account is active. Deleted within 90 days of account cancellation or deletion.

You may request deletion of your data at any time through the account settings page or by contacting us at privacy@campaignbase.vote. We will respond to deletion requests within 30 days.

You may opt out of receiving marketing emails from us by clicking the “unsubscribe” link in any marketing email or by updating your email preferences in your account settings. You will continue to receive transactional emails necessary for your account (such as receipts and security alerts) even if you opt out of marketing communications.
Cookie Preferences
You may manage your cookie preferences through the cookie consent banner on our website or through your browser settings. Note that disabling essential cookies will affect your ability to use the Platform.

Our Platform includes built-in features to assist with CAN-SPAM compliance, including:

However, compliance responsibility rests with the campaign, not with CampaignBase.
Children’s Privacy
Our Platform is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will promptly delete that information. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us at privacy@campaignbase.vote.

Our Platform may contain links to third-party websites, including vendor marketplace links, news sources, and state election authority websites. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third-party sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit.
